The Club is designed and run by:
- Philip West, who studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University and is a retired science teacher
- Patricia West, who is the retired Head teacher of a London primary school.
Philip is a scientist and has a PhD, so he is known to Club members as the Ship's Doctor.
Patricia has a special interest in Geography and History, so she is known as the Navigator.
The Captain, of course, is Columbus himself.
